The Companions

Why do we love the companions of Muhammad (saw) so much?

Because today, we grow up living in a time where Islam is firmly established. We grow up knowing Islam already exists, and know that people all around the world are devoted to this belief. We come into this world with Masjids already built, sacrifices already made, history already past and Muslims who are existent with support.

But the time of Muhammad (saw)?

Those sahabah who believed in him, believed in a time when there was no such thing. It was brand new. And the limits they went to, the courage that they had, the love in their hearts; is something impeccable. It’s amazing. Especially given the time/place it happened.

We think it’s hard to be Muslim with all the Kafir we’re surrounded by, despite the fact that the Muslim ummah and community is massive. What about them? Imagine being one of the only 2, one of the only 3? One of the only 4? One of the one 10? One of the only 20? IN THE WORLD. Not in the “School” or “Work place” or “town”. In the WORLD.

And today what we have is because of THEM. Muhammad (saw), Khadija, Abu Bakr, Ali, Uthman, Umar. Subhan’Allah. Words limit what they deserve to be given in terms of gratitude.

The Victory of Gaza

Assalamualaikum !

After 7 weeks of tears, suffering beyond any word could describe, 2145 syuhada, around 11000 injured, 15670 damaged housing units etc, Gaza has finally tasted its victory! Allahuakbar! :')

{وَيَوْمَئِذٍ يَفْرَحُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ بِنَصْرِ اللَّهِ يَنصُرُ مَن يَشَاء وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ}
"Dan pada hari itu bergembiralah orang beriman dengan pertolongan Allah. Dia telah memenangkan sesiapa yang dikehendaki dan Dia adalah yang Maha Berkuasa lagi Maha Mengasihi".

Can you see the happiness on their faces? It had been so long since the last time they feel such contentment & I pray, may it last forever. Amin!

I think it does feel like a dream, especially for the people in Gaza. It sure feels like entering into another phase of life altogether where their lives, rights & freedom are no longer restricted & threatened. Their lives are resumed with hopefully a lot of happy & promising days & years ahead. Alhamdulillah & InsyaAllah!

I Want To Tell The World A Story

I want to tell the world a story..

Tell the stories about the stolen lands and dreams never exiled from memory.
Tell the stories of untold violence and inconvenient truths.
Tell the stories that stir our spirits and tug us out of ourselves and into the lives of a thousand others.
Tell the stories that affirm human joy and dignity as rights – sacrosanct and immitigable.
Tell the stories of triumph over tragedy.
Tell the stories of love and astounding resonance.
Tell the stories that are so much more than the consequence of a catastrophe.
Tell the resplendent stories that perpetuate steadfast hope and resistance.
Tell the stories because they matter… they so deeply, richly matter.

How To Soften The Hardness of Heart

The Prophet (ﷺ), when a person complained to him about the hardness of his heart, said;

"If you want your heart to soften, feed the needy and stroke the head of orphans."

The How-I-Convert-To-Islam Stories

Assalamualaikum & hi! Apa khabar?

I love watching religious videos on Youtube, makes me ponder on many things about faith, live & hereafter. My all time favourite haruslah Ustaz Azhar Idrus. Siap beli cd simpan dalam kereta, ulang banyak kali pun still rasa kelakor. Hehe!

I also always get excited whenever I know or read about how-I-convert-to-Islam stories, especially from white people. Their stories are always beautiful, kadang-kadang bergenang air mata mek. Huhu! Amidst all the propaganda, Islamophobia & blatant prejudice towards Muslims especially after the 9/11 tragedy, Islam is believed to be the fastest growing religion in the world. Subhanallah

Indeed, Islam is for those people who think :)

Anyway, here is some interesting videos I would like to share. Just type 'convert to islam' on Youtube & you'll get to watch lots of related videos there

1. Former Taliban Captive, Yvonne Ridley

2. Former Christian Youth Minister, Joshua Evans

3. Former Harvard Bible Professor, Dr Jerald Dirks

4. A former rebellious heavy metal punk musician, Brother Abdul Malik

Tudung Fareeda

Assalamualaikum & hallo!

I've been following this guy named Muhamamd Rusydi on Fb. Dia macam ustaz tapi versi rock & kelakar gittew. I like his style of writing; funny yet ada mesej. The latest one is on isu tudung Fareeda yang pasal Mawar blablablablabla. Nak tahu silalah Google

P/s: Never a fan but no offense to all the pengemars. Hehe!

"Fenomena bisnes tudung singkat yang belum berkesudahan. Apa kata lelaki?"

Saya ada berbincang dengan kawan-kawan sesama lelaki. Akhirnya kami bersepakat memberikan sedikit komen tentang tudung sedemikian.

2. Dari segi ketebalan.
Kami merumuskan, apa gunanya berpuluh layer andai ianya tetap tipis dan jarang? Layer paling luas, nampak bentuk di belakang or sebalik kain. Sepatutnya makin banyak layer, makin tak nampak. Baik pergi kedai spray paint kereta. Suruh depa sembur tudung tu kasi layer kekal keras selamanya.

3. Dari segi harga.
Kami sedikit pelik sebab biasanya golongan wanitalah paling dahsyat berekonomi.

4. Dari segi suka dan tak suka.
Kesimpulannya, lelaki ada dua jenis. Satu, soleh. Satu lagi, tholeh (tak solehlah). Soleh ke tholeh ke semua suka perempuan bertudung. Kalau yang soleh, mereka suka anda labuhkan tudung. Kalau yang tholeh, mereka tak kisah pun anda pakai tudung singkat atau tak pakai langsung. Bila anda tanya pendapat yang tholeh ni, mereka akan jawab, "I suka." Bukan merujuk tudung singkat anda.

5. Penutup la pula.
Penutupnya, wanita sepatutnya tinggalkanlah tudung-tudung singkat ni. Majoriti lelaki tak berkenan dan tak suka sangat pun. Nak ditegur, takut terasa hati pula. Ada juga lelaki macam tu. Jaga hati buah hati.

Akhir kata, aurat itu bukan hanya isu tudung. Jangan rasa dah pakai tudung, kira dah tutup aurat. Kira dah setel bab aurat. No. Banyak lagi benda, bajunya, seluarnya, kainnya, perhiasannya, make-up overnya, aurat lengannya, aurat kakinya.

Itulah saja pendapat kami dari pihak lelaki.

Kita hidup ni bukannya ikut fesyen manusia suka.

Sekian, terima kasut.

Cinta Couple

Assalamualaikum & hallo!

I stumbled upon this interesting video while searching for Captain Norudin's video on youtube the other day

I think TH Filem did a good job. I mean, look at its video. So colourful & interesting. Siap dengan captions for better understanding. Hehe!

At this age, marriage is no longer a topic where me & my friends had to discuss it discreetly like we had to a few years ago. Or more precisely, during secondary school :P Although some of my close friends are still single, it seems like it's a topic we have to include in our conversation. Talk about a kepochi group of girl friends here. Hehe!

But I don't know what I often regard marriage as something complicated, big & burdensome. Like, it's something scary that would change my life 360 degrees, my life won't be the same anymore & I would lose all my single life's freedom. How if the in-laws don't like me? How if I fail to be a good wife or mother? How if this, how if that?

Haih!

Masa single, rasa nak kahwin. Now rasa takut pula. Syaitonnnn la ni! Auzubillah Minashaitan Nirajeem

Praying & Crying

:(

The picture of that crying man above always gets me no matter how many time I've seen it everywhere on the media. What's happening now around the world? Why do some people have so much hatred in themselves that other people's lives seem to not worth even a penny?

Look at him, this picture speaks thousands words. Look at his family behind, do you think they don't deserve to live? Look at them, what can we do to help them? It always hurts me whenever I see poor or old people sturggling to live. Although they might not utter any word asking for help, the hardship they have to endure inside, doesn't it too obvious for us to notice? :(

The least we can do is to make a lot of duas from afar

O Allah Ar Rahman Ar Rahim, please protect our Muslim brothers & sisters not only in Myanmar but also all around the world. Give them strenght, patience & the highest jannah. Amin...

Celebrating St Valentine's Day

The yearly globalized celebration of love with its ritual circulation of greeting cards, flowers, exalting the color red & exchanging presents in honour & respect for free love is completely against Islamic teachings.

Its prohibition is not merely because of its 4th festival held in honour of the Roman god Lupercus, in whose honour an annual lottery on the 13-15 of February was held to distribute young women among young men for "entertainment and pleasure," although this fact alone is enough to prohibit it.

Nor is it because of its Christian adaptation in honour of St. Valentine, worshiped by Catholics as the lover’s saint, although this concept of shirk alone is also sufficient to make it forbidden.

Nor is it due to the use of pagan symbols of Cupid, the Roman god of desire, erotic love & affection, portrayed as a little boy with a bow, whose arrows pierce hearts & overwhelms them with uncontrollable desire.

It is primarily forbidden because it promotes & glorifies sexual abandon and licentiousness in the name of the divinely granted emotional gift of love.

While love in the Islamic context is expressed in a balanced way, beginning with the love of God, love of family & love of society – each having its own rights & duties. This moderate view puts love in its proper context, benefiting everyone all year long & not just confined to a commercialized crazy day of ritualized romantic chaos in the name of love.

The Mother & The Payback

Ibn Umar (r.a) saw a man carrying his mother on his shoulders & roaming her round the Ka’abah.

The man said: “O Ibn Umar, do you think I have paid back my debt to her?”

Ibn Umar replied: "Your effort is not equal to a single one of her labor pains. Nonetheless you are doing well & Allah will give you a great reward for the little you are doing. “

Hapiness In Islam

Assalamualaikum & jumma mubarakah!

I found this article on Fb & thought that it's worth sharing with you. Feel free to share it :)

I came across this picture

Isn't this true? All the poor children we see on the streets selling candy, tissues & whatever else to help their families. The children see the smiles on the faces of the families buying from them but they don't find a reason to smile themselves from the difficulty of their own lives.

We live in a time where the rich keep getting richer & that's what many of them keep thinking about. Take a vow to be different & to further be a Muslim who wants to help as many people as you can before departing this world. Try to reach the less fortunate people & share their happiness by being the cause of it. Realize that life is short & what you have in your hands is but Allah's gift to you. It really DOES NOT belong to you. It perishes like everything else. Change a life today...the world is vast. Look for a child, an orphan, a family, a neighbor, a friend, a stranger or any Muslim across the globe.

The Prophet (saw) said,

"The people most beloved to Allah are those who are most beneficial to the people.
The most beloved deed to Allah is to make a Muslim happy."

Faith

Scared? Pray
 Over thinking? Pray
 Losing hope? Pray
 Worried? Pray
Struggling? Pray
 Pray & trust in Allah.

Do not delay asking for forgiveness. Every night before you sleep, ask for forgiveness from Allah. Because the second you close your eyes, your soul departs your body. But its return is never guaranteed.

"Sometimes I want to ask God why He allows poverty, famine & injustice when He could do something about it but I’m afraid He might just ask me the same question." -`Abdul Bahá

"Our train is heading towards death & we are worried about life" -Mufti Ismail Menk

You sin so much & Allah is still so kind to you. Imagine if you were good, what level of mercy & kindness He would have towards you.

Jumma Mubarakah!

Assalamualaikum & jumma mubarakah to everyone!

To leave my blog not updated for 3 days, it was something rare but I did. Tqvm to the workloads at the office. By the time I arrived home from work, my battery went red nyawa-nyawa ikan & right after Isya' prayer, terus zZzzzZ!

Anyhow, happy belated birthday ya Rasullullah (saw)!

Found this youtube video about Prophet Muhammad (saw)'s biography by the History Channel (my fav!)

According to an Ustaz (whose name I forgot. My bad), right after solat fardu, semasa kaki masih lagi dalam keadaan tahiyyat akhir, jangan terus ubah posisi kaki. Instead, spend some time to selawat kepada Rasullullah, at least 3x. I can't remember the exact reward but MasyaAllah, besar pahala & ganjarannya. So, mari kita banyak-banyak berselawat & semoga kita beroleh syafaat Rasulullah di Padang Masyar kelak. Amin...
